Remediation started late

When remediation is prescribed at the end of the year, the student faces a higher mountain to climb. What if, a skill improvement prescription is start early in the school year. Makes sense right? Parents who monitor the school’s reporting systems of their child’s performance get more signals of potential problems. Many schools have web=based message systems. Most schools send progress reports home for students performing below expectations.  Many teachers call home when “red flags” pop-up in a student’s progress. Parents can initiate early remediation by email replies.  Work with the teacher. Teachers are open to arrangements that can assist your child without adding to their workload.  This simple step can get your child stated in the right direction. Remember, anything that contributes to your child’s high performance should be tried. This is a valuable tenant of the art of excellence. When you begin a repair program early, you are protecting your child’s self esteem.
